It’s that time of year again!
A new year around the corner means a lot of us are reflecting.
Reflecting on what worked, what didn’t, and how we can feel better.
New Year’s resolutions tend to stress us out and for good reason: they are rife with self-judgment and rarely take hold after the first week.
Because of the collective energy around resolutions, many of us lose our steam and fall back into old habits. Because hey, it’s just easier and our brains like that.
But what if you could still implement change without all the pressure?
How can you get excited about a new identity you want to try on?
Can you still enjoy transformation without resolutions?
You can and I’m going to show you how.
What is your self-concept?
Here’s something I learned in 2023: your self-concept is everything and determines what you allow in, what you accept about life, and how much you can manifest.
What is a self-concept? It is the big-picture view you have of yourself and how you fit into the world.
Many of us believe we have a positive self-concept when what we’re expressing energetically can be vastly different.
I’ll give you an example.
For years, I thought I had a positive self-concept when it came to money.
I grew up with money and have a vast financial education.
But in my life, money seemed hard to manifest and hold onto and it started to affect how I saw myself (or rather, how I truly saw myself was deflecting money from flowing consistently).
I realized my self-concept was all out of whack. When I dug deep, it hit me that I saw myself as a victim of unfair circumstances that I was powerless to change. This deep belief in that version of myself led me to keep experiencing lack, frustration, and blockages.
Once I saw how everything was connected to my low vibrating self-concept, I took steps to change how I saw myself.
Answer these questions to clarify your self-concept

Your self-concept determines your experience of this reality.
To clarify how you truly see and think about yourself, answer the following questions.
Remember: what we think we believe about ourselves and what we actually believe can be quite different. Dig deep and be brave. This work requires self-compassion and self-forgiveness.
- Do I view myself as lucky or as a victim?
- Do I view myself as wealthy or financially struggling?
- Do I see myself as a receiver of what I want or as a struggler who has to beg?
- Do I believe the universe is on my side all the time?
- Do I see myself as a powerful manifestor or as a victim of what’s already here?
- Do I believe in myself?
- When life throws me a curve ball, do I see myself as resilient or a mess of stress?
- Do I have faith in my abilities?
- Has someone else’s concept of me affected my own? What are the beliefs and how can I change them?
- Do I see myself in flow with life or always fighting against the flow?
- What do I truly think about where I am on my path? Am I satisfied? Frustrated? Curious? Scared? Exhilarated? Describe how these energies affect your body.
- Do I feel loved and protected or unloved and unsafe?
- Do I have self-worth? Self-trust? Self-confidence?
- Am I living someone else’s dream, wish, or beliefs about life? What are MY dreams, goals, and beliefs about life?
- Do I feel good about myself? Do I care about my feelings, perceptions, and experiences? How can I show myself more self-care?
- Do I believe life supports me or do I believe it’s against me?
